The eduWeb Summit brings together higher education and industry professionals to learn, exchange ideas, build relationships, and enjoy being part of our community. We are committed to providing a professional, welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for everyone who participates.
We expect all participants to treat one another with professionalism, courtesy, and respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, professional role, or other personal characteristics.
Who & Where This Code Applies
This Code of Conduct applies to everyone participating in the eduWeb Summit, including attendees, presenters, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, contractors, media, guests, and visitors.
It applies throughout the Summit experience, including:
Educational sessions, workshops, keynotes, and other programming
Exhibit and sponsor areas and activities
Receptions, meals, networking activities, and social events
eduWeb-sponsored activities held outside the conference venue
Online, digital, and social media interactions associated with the Summit
Exhibitors and sponsors are expected to follow these standards in their exhibit spaces, sponsored activities and sessions, promotional materials, and interactions with attendees.
Expected Behavior
We ask everyone participating in the eduWeb Summit to:
Treat others professionally, respectfully, and courteously.
Welcome different experiences, perspectives, backgrounds, and viewpoints.
Respect personal and professional boundaries.
Be considerate of the people around you and avoid disrupting presentations, conversations, or events.
Respect requests regarding photography, video, or recording.
Follow presenter, session, venue, and event guidelines.
Consume alcohol responsibly at receptions and other social activities.
Speak up or seek assistance if you experience or witness behavior that may violate this Code of Conduct.
Unacceptable Behavior
Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, bullying, or other behavior that creates an unsafe, hostile, or unwelcome environment will not be tolerated.
Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:
Discriminatory, harassing, demeaning, or threatening comments or conduct.
Sexual harassment, unwanted sexual attention, or unwelcome advances.
Deliberate intimidation, bullying, stalking, or following.
Unwanted physical contact or inappropriate invasion of personal space.
Physical assault or threats of violence.
Inappropriate or unwanted photography, video, or recording.
Sustained disruption of presentations, sessions, exhibit activities, or other Summit events.
Display or distribution of inappropriate, discriminatory, harassing, or sexually explicit materials.
Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern or makes a good-faith report.
Reporting a Concern
If you experience or witness behavior that may violate this Code of Conduct, we encourage you to report it as soon as you feel comfortable doing so.
During the Summit: Contact a member of the eduWeb Summit organizing team or visit the Registration Desk. Our team will work with you to determine the appropriate next steps.
For situations involving an immediate threat to personal safety, contact hotel security or emergency services.
Concerns may also be reported to info@eduwebsummit.com.
Reports will be handled as discreetly as reasonably possible, with information shared only as necessary to review and respond appropriately to the situation.
Retaliation against anyone who makes a good-faith report or participates in the review of a concern is prohibited. Knowingly making a false or malicious report is also a violation of this Code. A report that cannot ultimately be substantiated is not, by itself, considered a false or malicious report.
How eduWeb May Respond
eduWeb Summit organizers will review reported concerns and determine an appropriate response based on the circumstances.
Actions may include, but are not limited to:
Speaking with or warning an individual about their behavior.
Asking an individual to stop specific behavior.
Removing an individual from a session, activity, reception, or other event.
Removing an individual from the Summit without refund.
Restricting or prohibiting participation in future eduWeb Summit events.
When appropriate, eduWeb may also involve venue security, emergency services, or law enforcement.
A Community Responsibility
Creating a welcoming Summit experience is a shared responsibility. We appreciate everyone's role in maintaining an environment where higher education and industry professionals can learn, connect, exchange ideas, and participate comfortably.
